Good evening Saint Joseph school Community. I pray all continue to be well and safe. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew for their awesome performance of "The King and I". Thank you to all who supported this event. It has been some years since the school put on this type of performance. We have much talent in our school and look forward to more performances in years to come. This week we are in final preparations to graduate our 8th grade class. We certainly thank them for doing so well here at SJS. We ask for your prayers for them as they continue on their educational journeys. No Extra Pizza Money Collection this week.
Reminder::May is the last month for tuition payments for the 2022-2023 school year. All monies are now due for the Mandatory $500.00 fundraiser.
Breakfast /lunch invoices for May will be issued this week. Please be prepared to pay June before the last day of school June 16, 2023.
It is the policy of Saint Joseph School that all financial obligations are paid in full, before students in 8th , Pre-k, and Kindergarten, can participate in the programs.
Also all financial obligations must be met before any student can register for the 2023-2024school year.
Registration for the next school year and Summer School and camp registration are now ongoing. All registration must be completed by June 30, 2023.
All transfers must be in writing. Forms are available in the school office. There is a 48 hour turn around for paper work to be released. All financial obligations must be met for records to be released.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. This week we are excited to be presenting "The King and I' play. Our grades six thru eight and a few students from other grades will be performing. The play will take place Thursday May 25, 2023 at 6:30 PM in our school gymnasium. Tickets will be on sale at the door. Adults $10.00 and children under 12, $5,00. Doors will open at 6:00 PM. There will be full days of school Monday May 22 thru Thursday May 25. School will be closed for all classes Friday May 26 and Monday May 29, 2023. This week we pray for our 8th grade students as they take their final exams beginning Tuesday May 23 thru Thursday May 25. No Extra Pizza Money will be collected this week.
Reminder May 15th Tuition is due by Thursday May 25 to avoid a late fee to be applied Friday May 26 and educational services being suspended Tuesday May 30, 2023. May 28th Tuition payments due May 28 will be taken Friday May 26 due to May 28 on Sunday and May 29 is a holiday.to avoid fees being charged.
All financial obligations must be paid before your child/children can register for the 2023-2024 school year.
It is the school policy that all grades Prek, Kindergarten, and eighth grades must have all financial obligations paid in order to participate in their graduation ceremonies.
Registration for the 2023-2024 school year and 2023 Summer Enrichment Program is taking place. The EMLA Scholarship application is available in the school office. It must be submitted by June 15, 2023.

Good Evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all continue to be well and safe. Happy Mother's Day to all our mother's grandmothers , aunts and all who care for children. It was a beautiful day and I pray everyone enjoyed it. This week we are celebrating our class of 2023 with activities for them.
The 8th grade has a retreat Monday May 15 at Saint Joseph Shrine at Stirling, NJ. Wednesday May 17 they will be going to New York City to see the play "MJ"., Thursday May 18, the class will have their class dance at Belle Italia with faculty and staff. Friday will be determined as they prepare for their final exams.
Also this week the PreK classes Tuesday May 16 will travel to Sesame Place.. Wednesday May 17 Grades K thru 2 will travel to the Crayola Factory. Any student not attending must remain home. Chaperones must arrive by 8:30 AM. All permission slips and fees must be paid by Monday May 15, 2023
Grades 5 thru 8 have been practicing for our Spring play the King and I. It will be presented Thursday May 25, 2023 at 6:30 PM. Tickets will be on sale beginning Monday May 22, 2023. Adults $10.00 Seniors and children $5.00. Please plan to support this event.
May, 2023 is the final month of Tuition collection. Payments due by the15th must be paid by May 25 to avoid $50.00 late fee and suspension of educational services. May 28 payments will be deducted May 26 due to the 28 on Sunday and holiday on 29th.
Anyone owing for the $500.00 mandatory fundraiser must pay by May 26.
Spring candy if you received a box of candy and met your fundraising obligation you may return the candy or send in the $60.00. If you still owe the balance will be added to your May tuition. We have asked and sent notices you must notify the office that you will pay the balance directly to the school and not add to your tuition

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that all are well and safe. Congratulations to the Saint Joseph School Athletic Association on celebrating their 2022-2023 basketball season. The banquet held on Saturday evening was a great success. Congratulations to all the players, coaches and their families! A special thank you to the executive committee. On their awesome, Organization of the event. This event kicks off our season of celebrations.
Registration for the 2023-2024 school year has begun, You must come into the school to register and pay the registration fee. We hope to have all returning students registered by June 30, 2023, so faculty, staff planning can be in place before school reopens in September. Registration for Summer school or camp are also taking place.
Unless you have notified the office in regard to your outstanding mandatory $500.00 fundraiser, any monies due must be paid by May 12, 2023 or it will be added to your May tuition bill. All financial obligations for the 2022-2023 school year must be paid by May 31, 2023. Our tuition audits have been 100% throughout this school year and we wish to complete the year with the same results.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that all are well and safe. This has been a weekend of much needed rain. Please be safe and watch out for flooded streets on your morning travels. We are in the home stretch of the 2022-2023 school year. Grade 8 has 24 days and grades K thru 7 34 days left This past Saturday April 29th we celebrated our Ms. Wright's Heavenly Birthday.
This week we begin our Spring Map testing for grades 2 thru 8. This testing assist the teachers and administrators prepare our instruction for the coming school year and identify where are students have gaps and are in need of help to bring them to grade level. Individual plans will be created to meet each students needs. Testing will begin Tuesday May 2 thru May 19, 2023 We request that you will encourage your child to do their best, be on time to school and eat a good breakfast. These tests have no effect on their grades or promotions.
Thank you to those families who have supported our Spring fundraiser. We still have boxes of chocolate available to anyone interested in selling. them.
If you are selling the candy to off set what you owe toward the mandatory $500.00 fundraiser. The money must be turned in by May 10, 2023 to avoid the balance being added to your May tuition. You may contact Ms. Courtney if you have any questions.
Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is open. The registration fee of $225.00 must be paid at the time of registration. You must come to the office for registration papers. All tuition must be current.
Summer camp registration is open Registration fee $50.00. Camp will run July 5 thru August 25, 2023 7 AM-6 PM Monday thru Friday.
Scholarship fund for Inner City Children is still open until May 19, 2023. The ELMA Scholarship applications are available in the school office. You may apply between May 1 and June 15, 2023. Contact the office if you wish an application. This scholarship must be mailed in by June 15 by the parent or guardian. The fee is $15.00 per family.

I wish to congratulate Tyler Glasgow and Vincent Horace for receiving the CYO Athletic Awards today at the Archdiocese of Newark Cathedral. Also Ms. Crystal Washington who received the CYO adult award for her commitment to our students and sports at Saint Joseph School. We thank all for your support of the Athletic Family Fun Day Saturday, it was a great success.

Easter Greetings to Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are safe and well and had a restful, great recess. As we prepare to return to finish the 2022-2023 school year, let us all make it a great ending. Our school has been cleaned thanks to Mr. Pepe and Mr. Washington who both cleaned and repaired the areas needing attention.
Thank you to all those families and friends of Saint Joseph School who have supported our Spring World Finest Candy Sale. Monday April 17, 2023 all monies are due.
If you need more time , please send a note requesting an extension. All our boxes of candy are out. We are getting another delivery of 100 boxes on Thursday April 20.
If you need more boxes of candy, please send a note and you can pick up your boxes of candy on April 20. Those families that still owe for the mandatory fundraiser, any sales from the Spring Fundraiser Candy sale will be credited to your outstanding balance.
All outstanding mandatory fundraiser balances will be added to your May tuition account.
Registration for the 2023-2-24 school year will begin Monday April 24, 2023. You must come into school to register.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that everyone is safe and well. As we enter Holy Week, and look to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I pray we are thankful for the life He gave for us all. This week we have full days of school, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday is a 12:00 dismissal and the beginning of our Easter Recess. Good Friday April 7, school is closed. Easter Monday April 10, 2023 school is closed for all classes.Prek-8. Due to our Pre-K classes being licensed by the State and can only be closed 22 days throughout the year, Pre-K classes will be open Tuesday April 11 thru Friday April 14 half days 7:30-12:00. Please let your child's Pre-k teacher know if he/she will attend school. Breakfast and Morning Snack only will be served.
Thank you to all the families who have supported our World Finest Chocolate Candy Sale. We still have some boxes of candy available for sale.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that all are well and safe. I hope all enjoyed this beautiful Sunday. Here we are almost at the end of another month. Please continue to pray for our entire school community as we near the ending of the Lenten Season. This week is a FULL week of School.
All tap dance and Hip/hop classes will be held in the school gymnasium. Students are to be picked up from Tremont Avenue exit at 4:30 PM if they are not in Aftercare.
We are in the last Trimester of the school year. It is important that our students in Grades K-8 end this year successfully. Please check Power School weekly to check their progress. If you have any questions or concerns, email your child's teacher. If you do not get a response in twenty-four hours, please contact the school office.
Please return all Surveys in regards to returning next year. We are beginning to prepare our budget and staffing needs for the 2023-2024 school year.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that all are well and safe. Please pray for special intentions within our school community. We pray that God will continue to protect and keep each one of us from the troubles of the world and pray for peace.
Congratulations to Our Varsity Boys' Basketball Team as they move to the finals of the Tournament of Champions representing Essex County CYO Teams. The game will be held at the CYO Recreation Center 499 Belgrove Drive Kearney Monday March 20 at 8:00 PM. Please pray for them whether you attend or not. I thank all who came out today to support our team and how they represented Saint Joseph School.
Any parent who was asked to schedule a Parent/Teacher Conference and it was not held, please make an appointment with your child's teacher. Information of importance must be discussed.
Tomorrow March 20 is the feast day of our patron, Saint Joseph. We will have a prayer service at 9:30 AM in the gym for Saint Joseph and Saint Patrick.
Reminder: March 15th Tuition Past Due. Please pay before March 26 or $50.00 Late Fee will be assessed and Educational Services will be Suspended if not paid by Monday March 27, 2023. Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that everyone is well and safe. Congratulations to our Varsity Boy's Basketball Team for winning the Essex County CYO Championship for the second year in a row. They now will represent Essex County in the Tournament of Champions to be held in a couple of weeks .We also congratulate our JV Boys for their efforts in their game Saturday which they loss, but the manner in which they paid was representative of our school Motto "Pride, Commitment and Honor". We thank our entire school community whether in person or your prayers for the support of all our teams this season..
During Lent we should be praying , Fasting , giving Alms, In each class there is a white box for students to place coins , extra change ,pennies, The collection has been taking place between March 6 and ending April 6. The funds will be given to St. Joseph Church benevolent fund for those in need. Please send your extra change to school with your child.
Breakfast/lunch invoices were sent home last week for those who have to pay for these services. Please send monies in an envelope with your child's name . Receipts will be sent home. Any monies due for tap or nail classes , please send in to school.
This year for the Second Trimester Report Card Parent/Teacher Conferences will only be held for those students who teachers have concerns about students academic progress. Notices were sent out or will be sent out to those parents or guardians who must schedule a parent/teacher conference in regards to the second trimester report card. Conferences will be held this Friday afternoon March 17, 2023. There will be a 12:00 dismissal for all classes. so conferences can be held between 1:00 and 4:00 PM. The Power School Portal for parents/guardians to review grades is not open due to preparation of report cards .It will reopen Thursday March 16, 2023.
Varsity Boys Practice this week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 3-4:45PM Saturday 10-12. . .

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. Please continue to pray for our school community. Congratulations to our JV Boys and Varsity Boys Basketball Teams as they both advanced to the Essex County Championship Games, The games will be held next Sunday at the Mt. Saint Dominic Gymnasium on Caldwell University Campus. The times will be announced later this week. I thank our Athletic Association Parents and supporters for their untiring and dedicated service over this weekend.
Monday March 6 begins our third and final Trimester for this year. It is important that are students end the year successfully. Please make sure they are keeping up with assignments and doing their best at all times.
This week are full days of school. The second fundraiser ends tomorrow Monday March 6. All order forms and monies are due . They must be counted and mailed to the vendor.
Basketball Practices will be announced later in the week by team coaches. All basketball players must be in school everyday in order to play in Championship Games on Sunday. March 12, 2023

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. The school will reopen Wednesday March 1, 2023 regular hours.Please be careful when traveling to the school in the morning. The snow that melted today probably will freeze overnight causing icy slippery roads in the morning. There will be no late slips given. The school building was disinfected today while we were out. We have three cases of COVID in our school community. I ask that we all are careful and remember this virus is still around us. This is why we require all who enter the building to wear a mask.
Please if your child has any of the COVID symptoms, have them tested. The quarantine period is five days. Our local health department advises us of any cautions we must take in the school.
