Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. Happy Palm Sunday!!! I pray all are well and safe. Special prayers are requested for our faculty and staff in the days and weeks ahead. As we are entering Holy Week in preparation for Easter Sunday, let us pray more for God to continue to protect and keep each of us.

This week we will be open Monday April 14 and Tuesday April 15 full days. On Wednesday April 16 we will have a 12:00 dismissal and begin our Easter recess.

Since there will be road construction the week of April 21- April 25 which will involve putting new gas lines into the school, Our Preschool department will be closed  all week. 

A Spring Color Tag day will take place Tuesday April 15. The tag day dress policy will be in effect. No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts. No crocs or clogs, Donation $ 2.00.All outstanding tag day fees must be paid immediately.

After school activities will take place Monday and Tuesday . All April fees must be paid by April 14 for students to continue to participate.

Any outstanding outstanding lunch fees must be paid by Monday April 14 or students will not be allowed to eat lunch until fee is paid in full.
Any fundraising balances must be paid. If a payment arrangement has not been set up , the balance will be added to your tuition.

There is a Snack fundraiser to help the Athletic Association prepare for their Spring and Summer Programs. Information was sent home to some classes. The information to other classes will be sent home on Monday. April 14. It will end on May 1, 2025. You can order online again  Please support this fund raiser. 

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is taking place. All returning students must register by June 30, 2025. No seats will be guaranteed after June 30 for the next school year. Registration fee remains the same,  $225.00. for each student , grades K thru 7. $300.00 for grade eight which includes the High school testing fee. The tuition has increased $15.00 per month to $5850.00 for the first child and decreases by $100.00 for each additional child. You must come into the school office to register and be prepared to pay the registration fee. No paper work can be sent home.

The Scholarship Fund for Inner City Children application is open online until May 1 2025. The EMLA Scholarship fund application will be sent out the week of April 
28 2025. This scholarship opens May 1, 2025 thru June 15, 2025.

Tomorrow,  Monday April 14, road construction will continue on Telford Street. The project is installing gas lines into homes on Telford Street. The street will close at 8:00 AM. Please be careful and patient when dropping children off at school. Please do not cross in the middle of the streets. 

School will be closed Thursday April 17,  Friday April 25, 2025 for Easter Recess. School will reopen Monday April 28, 2025.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that all are well and safe. Thank you to all who attended the athletic Association Banquet last evening. All had a great time. We congratulate all our teams, coaches and families for a great season.

Now we look forward to successfully finishing the school year. This week is a full week of school. All afterschool activities will take place this week. Students are reminded to bring their tap dance shoes to practice. All afterschool activity fees are due by April 10. 2025.

Thursday will be a Spring color tag day. Tag day dress policy is in effect. No torn , distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts are allowed. No crocs or clogs can be worn at anytime during the school week. Donation is $2.00. 

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is taking place. You must come into the school office prepared to stay and fill out registration paperwork and pay the fee. We are hoping to have any returning students registerd by June 30, 2025. There is an online survey for current families to answer if you are returning, or transferring.

The Scholarship Fund for Inner City Students online application is opened until May 1, 2025. You must have a copy of your 2024 taxes available to upload to the application. The EMLA Scholarship will open May 1 thru June 15, 2025. Applications will be sent home the week of April 28, 2025.
 
Easter recess will begin with a half day on April 16, 2025. We will be closed April 17, 18, and the week of April 21 thru April 25 and reopen Monday April 28, 2025. The pre- school classes will be closed April 17, 18 and Monday April 21, but reopen for half days April 22 thru April 25.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that all are well and safe. Can you believe we are at the end of March? We are praying for God's healing for all who have been stricken with illness this year even to the point of hospitalization. Our patron Saint St. Joseph has been protecting us, so let's continue to pray for each other.

This week Monday March 31 thru Thursday April 3 are full days of school. Friday April 4, 2025 is a half day of school 12:00 dismissal for all classes, no aftercare. Students must be picked up or late fee will be charged.

All afterschool activities will take place Monday thru Thursday.

Thursday April 3 is a Striped Color Tag Day.. Dress Policy is in effect. No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts. No crocs or clogs can be worn. Donation $2.00.

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will begin Monday March 31, 2025. You must come into school to do paper work. Registration fee is $225.00 for grades Kindergarten to grade 7. Grade 8 registration is $300.00 which includes fee for HSPT Exam in November. Tuition is increasing to %5850.00. This is an increase of $150.00 or $15.00 per month. Tuition again will begin in August 2025 thru May 2026. 

We would like all returning students to be registered by June 30, 2025. We have already begun testing new students. Interviews for new students entering grades 6 thru 7 are being held. If your child or children are not returning, please let the office know as soon as possible.

This SFIC scholarship application is open until May 1, 2025. You will be notified in June if awarded. Students going into Kindergarten and a Catholic High School may apply.. 

The April Lunch menu will be posted this week. Any breakfast lunch invoices that were not paid Friday March 28 must be paid Monday March 31, 2025 

The April Afterschool activity fee needs to be paid by Friday April 4 2025. due to shortened month.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to hope that all are well and safe. Thank you to the Athletic Association Parents, students, faculty  and families who came out and supported the Family day. All had great fun and enjoyment. 

This week we are in school full days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday school is closed to all classes as the administration, teachers and staff must attend a professional development training in Kearny. School will be closed Wednesday March 26, 2025.

All after school activities will take place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. All March fees should be paid for students to participate. Students in tap dance must bring their tap shoes to class or they will not be able to participate

Thursday March 27 is a Purple and White Tag Day as we are in the season of lent. Tag Day dress policy is in effect. No distressed, torn or written on jean or tee shirts. No clogs or crocs can be worn. Donation is $2.00. 

Each class has a Lenten box to collect spare change for the benevolent collection to support our church St. Joseph. Students can bring in pennies or spare change to place in the box in their class.

Reminder: The March 15th tuition is due by March 25th to avoid the $50.00 late fee. You must have called in or emailed Ms. Courtney if there would be a problem paying by this date.

The Scholarship Fund for Inner City Children is having an assistance afternoon on Thursday March 27  from 4:30 until 7:00 PM for anyone applying having difficulty. applying. You must call for an appointment 973 497-4283. Leave your name, phone number and email.

The Spring Fundraiser online is open to place orders until Tuesday March 25, 2025.. Only online orders. Thank you to all who participated.

The second Trimester report cards were handed out on Friday March 21, 2025 to those students whose parents did not have to meet with the teacher.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe.It seems winter is behind us and hopefully we can look to warmer weather in the coming days. We celebrate our Patron Saint Joseph o his feast day Wednesday March 19, 2025 with a prayer service. This week Monday thru Thursday are full days of school. Friday March 21, 2025 is a 12:00 dismissal. Emails or notices will be sent out to those parents.guardians who the teachers feel they must discuss students progress, possible summer school or in danger of retention.

Afterschool activities will take place Monday thru Thursday.All fees for March must be paid or students cannot participate.

Monday March 17, 2025 is St. Patrick's Day Tag Day. The colors green, white can be worn. Tag Day Dress Policy will be in effect. No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts can be worn.No crocs or clogs can be worn on any day. Shoes or sneakers must be worn. Donation $2.00.

The Scholarship Fund for Inner City Children application is now open until May 1, 2025.Please apply.  If you are having trouble with the application there is help at the Archdiocese on March 27, 2025 from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM. You must call 973-497-4283 to make an appointment for assistance. It will be held at the Archdiocese Center 171 Clifton Avenue Newark.

 St. Joseph School Registration will open Monday March 31, 2025. Please advise the school office if your child will not return in September. 2025.
All tuiton must be current and all other fees including fundraising must be paid in order to register.

Good evening saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that everyone is well and safe. Did you Spring Ahead into Daylight Savings Time? We congratulate our Varsity Girls Basketball Team in their efforts in the CYO Championship game this afternoon that they lost to St. Aloysius. Win or lose  it's how they played the game. They have had a great season once again this year.

This week will be a full week of school  All afterschool activities will take place this week. All fees for the afterschool activity are due Monday March 10, 2025 or students will not be allowed to participate in the activity. Please send fees in an envelope with student's name nd activity.
 
This week we begin our third Trimester. Report cards for the second trimester will be distributed March 21, 2025.with the Map testing scores for grades one thru eight. Notices for possible Summer School and other concerns will be sent home with report card.

The Spring Fundraiser ends Tuesday March 11, 2025. All monies and forms must be submitted by Tuesday. We can not extend the date to ensure delivery before Easter. Please make sure information is clearly written. If there is a problem with the delivery address, your orders can be sent to the school. Please use the school address: 115 Telford Street East Orange, NJ 07018. Please let the school know you would like your order sent to the school.

Thursday March 13 will be a Rainbow color tag day. Tag Day dress policies will be in effect. No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts. No crocs or clogs can be worn. Donation $2.00.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that everyone is well and safe. March came in like a lamb, but winter is still in the air. 

Congratulations to our students and teachers for the Black History Programs performed on Friday February 28, 2025. Thank you to our families who supported the programs in person or virtual.

Congratulations to our CYO Basketball teams for their efforts in the playoffs this past weekend. Congratulations to our Varsity Girls basketball team as they will play in the CYO Essex Championship game Sunday March 6, 2025 at 4:30 PM at the Mount Saint Dominic Girls gymnasium on Caldwell University campus. 

This week Monday thru Thursday are full days of school. Friday March 7 will be a 12:00 dismissal for all classes. All afterschool activities will take place Monday thru Thursday. All March afterschool activity fees are due by Monday March 10, 2025.

Wednesday March 5, 2025 is Ash Wedneday, the beginning of tje Lenten season.We will go to Mass where our community will receive ashes. If you do not want your child to receive ashes, when the class goes up to receive ashes, those students not receiving will walk with their arms folded across their chest just to receive a blessing.

Thursday March 6 will be a Blue and Gold Tag day to support our Athletic Association. Tag day dress policy will be in effect. No  torn, distressed or written on tee shirts, No crocs or clogs can be worn. Donation $2.00. We will have a Pep rally to support our Varsity Girls Team as they prepare to go to the championship game on Sunday.

The Spring Fundraiser is ongoing until March 18, 2025. The $700.00 fund raiser commitment must be met by April 1, 2025.Please email Ms. Courtney if you have a concern or question.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. Congratulations to both our Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball Teams for reaching the OLS February Frenzy Championships. Both teams played well againt Assumpstion Academy of Morristown. Our girls came in second place, but our boys were victorious. winning the championship. Thank you to our school community who showed up to support both games. we are family!!! Next we have to prepare for the CYO playoffs. in the next two weeks.

This week is a full week of school. All after school activities will take place.
Wednesday February 26, 2025  the Athletic Association will hold another Bake Sale to benefit their Annual Basketball Banquet.
Thursday February 27 will be a Black History Tag Day. Red, Green and Black colors. Tag day dress policy in effect. No distressed, torn or written on jeans or tee shirts. No Crocs or clogs. Socks must be worn with all shoes, sneakers, or boots. Donation $2.00.

Friday February 28 will be our Black History Programs. Grades PreK thru 5 in the morning. Program begins at 9:30 AM.  in the afternoon middle school and other students will perform beginning 1:15PM. A donation of $2.00 for those attending. The programs will be zoomed. Information is on the flyer sent home and attached to this email.

Tuition due 15th of the month must be paid by Tuesday February 25, 2025 to avoid a $50.00 late fee and educational services being suspended February 26, 2025. Any tuition concerns must be called in prior to February 25, 2025. All outstanding invoices must be paid as soon as possible to avoid non participation due to non payment.

Good evening Saint Joseph School community. Welcome to February 2025 as we celebrate "Black History Month". I pray all are well and safe. We seem to still be fighting these viruses that have attacked some of us in different forms. We must all strive to take care of ourselves and seek medical attention when needed. Congratulations to our Catholic Schools Week Faculty Commitee for a successful week of events and activities last week. We hope our school community enjoyed themselves. Our faculty and staff applaud our students and committe for the appreciation breakfast and certificates they received on Friday. Thank you to all who donated to our care packages for the East Orange Veterans Hospital. 

This first week of February is a full week of school with No half days. All afterschool extra curricular activities will take place at their regular days and times. 

Map testing will continue.this week for grades one thru eight. If any student has missed any part of the test, they have until February 14 to complete the test.

There is still boxes of  World Finest Chocolates available to help those families who have not met their fundraising obligation for this school year. 

Students who participated in the Catholic Schools' Week Tag days and owe monies, please send the money into the school office in an envelope with their name and amount enclosed.

Since we are celebrating Black History Month our Tag days for this month will be Black, Green or Red, with the exception of February 13 when we will celebrate Valentine's Day and the colors are Red, White or Pink,  Since Friday February 14 will be a 12:00 dismissal, we will celebrate Valentine's Day on February 13, 2025.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope all are well and safe. We continue to ask for prayers for Ms. Margie our PreK-3 teacher who is recoverying at home from surgery and Mr. Rowley our morning Tremont Ave door keeper.

This week we  have full days of school Monday thru Thursday with Friday January 17 being a half day of school..dismissal will be at noon. There will be no aftercare on FridayJanuary 17. When the weather is extremly cold, students may wear their gym uniform.

All after school activities will take place Monday thru Thursday. If you have not sent in your fees for the month of January, please send them in by Monday, Janaury 13 or your child will not be able to participate.

Winter Map Testing will begin on Tuesday January 14. This testing will include grade 1 thru 8. Please make sure your child gets a good night rest, eats breakfast at home or school, and encourage your child to do their best. Testing will go from January 14 and must be completed by February 14.

We still have boxes of World Finest Chocolates to sell. Please fill out form and pick them up from the office.

Friday January 17 will be our Hat and Scarf Tag Day. Tag Day dress policy will be in effect. No distressed or torn jeans or tee shirts, No clogs or crocs can be worn.
Donation $2.00

Please remember if your child is not feeling well , please keep them home. If a student is out sick  three days, they must have a doctor's note to return. If a student has a fever ro vomits in school they must be fever and vomit free for 24 hours before they can return to school. There are viruses, Covid RSVP going around. . We want to protect our entire school community. Mask wearing is optional.

Reminder: Parents, guardians are not permitted to go to any classrooms for security of the entire school community. You must report to the school office and your child will be called to the office. If there will be an early pickup, please call or email the office to alert us and we will have your child ready in the office. 

Birthday celebrations in school are limited to cupcakes and  juice or water. Due to our lunch program and children allergies, No other foods are allowed.

Wednesday January 15, tuition is due. if ther wil be a concern, you must contact Ms. Courtney prior to the 15th.

Scholarship season will open shortly, please prepare your 2024 taxe As they will be needed to apply.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community, "Happy New Year". I hope all are well and safe. As we return to complete the 2024-2025 school year, we are looking forward to completing it successfully. Thank you to all who assisted me during this recess as I was recovering from COVID. On behalf of the faculty and staff, we wish to Thank you for the blessings that were shared with each of us. 

As we return to a New Year 2025, we are looking forward to your continued support and cooperation. There are a few reminders and information of importance that we wish to share. School will reopen Monday January 6, 2025 regular hours. This will be a full week of school. All tuition through December 2024, must be paid by Monday January 6, 2025 6:30 AM or students will not ne allowed into school. No payment arrangements can be made at this time. All breakfast/lunch, afterschool activity invoices that were handed out must be paid in order for students to participate. Any World Finest chocolate monies are due. If you wish to order more boxes, please fill out the order blank. Winter Map Testing beginning date has been moved up to begin January 13, 2025  thru February 1, 2025.

All Afterschool Activities will resume on Monday January 6, 2025. Same dates and times.

Thursday January 9, 2025 will be a Purple and Gold Tag day. Tag day dress policy will be in effect. No distressed , torn or written on jeans or tee shirts. No crocs or clogs can be worn. Donation $2.00.

As we know there has been much illness, flu, viruses, Covid going around. If your child is sick , please keep them home. We are going back to some of the COVID policies. Mask will be optional. If your child is out three or more days , they must have a doctor's note to return. If sent home with fever or vomiting  they must be fever and vomit free for 24 hours. Classrooms will be disinfected daily. Handwashing will be increased. Please remember to bring tissues and disinfected wipes for your child's classroom.

Looking forward, we will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week January 27 thru January 31. A calendar of activities will be posted/ Please start preparing your 2024 taxes for the SFIC scholarship to open in February. School Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will begin in March 2025.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that everyone is well and safe. Let us continue to pray for Mr. Rowley our door keeper and his family. As we begin the third week of Advent, the week of Christmas Joy, I hope you have found Hope for a bright future and Peace within/
All after school activities will take place from Monday thru Thursday. Friday December 20 will be our last day of school with a 12:00 dismissal for all classes. All students must be picked up by that time or a late fee will be charged beginning 12:05 at$1.00 per minute.

School will be closed from December 23, 2024 thru January 5, 2025 and reopen Monday January 6, 2025.  The office will be closedduring this time. If there are any concerns during this time , pease email the main_office@stjosepheo.com . Kcavaness@stjosepheo.com or your child's teacher.

Wednesday December 18, grades Prek thru grade 5 will present the Christmas Concert at 9:30 AM in the school gymnasium.. Donation is $3.00. Doors open at 9:00.

Thursday December 19, our classes will have their class Christmas Celebrations after lunch. Your child's teacher will advise you what will be needed.Christmas Tag Day will be held, Tag Day dress policy in effect, No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts. No crocs or clogs can ne worn.  Donation $2.00

Sunday December 22 there will be basketball games played here at St. Joseph School beginning at 1:30PM. Please support our teams.

Reminder: All outstanding invoices for after school activities, breakfast, lunch, tag day are due immediately. All December tuition must be paid prior to January 6 or students will not be permitted to re-enter school on January 6, 2025.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that all are safe and well. As we enter into our second week of Advent, preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we must pray for Peace within our own lives , families, and the world. Let us unite in prayer to pray for Hudson Catholic High School Community ,as two of their football coaches lost their lives in the terrible crash this weekend. 

I especially wish to thank our faculty and staff for their preparation for the parent/teacher conferences held on Friday. Thank you to all who attended the first trimester parent/teacher conference. We pray you found knowing how  your child is progressing and looking forward to continued success and growth. It takes a village to raise our children and together we must strive to help them achieve to be the best they can be.

This week is a full week of school. All afterschool activities will take place. The fees for the month of December are due By Tuesday December 10, 2024. Please place fee in an envelope with your child's name and activity. They will not be allowed to participate if fee is not paid. 

Thursday December 12 will be a Denim Tag Day, No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirs can be worn, . No crocs or clogs can be worn. Donation $2.00 is for our spring play, "High School Musical".

Friday December 13, 2024 grades K thru 5 will travel to NJPAC to see "Journey to OZ". All permission slips and fees due Thursday December 12, 2024. Permission slips are on the school web page.

Parents/Guardians, if you know there will be a problem in paying tuition, you must contact Ms Courtney through an email before the due date.  We are here to help and know emergencies happen.

Grades Prek thru 5 will perform our Christmas Concert on Wednesday December 18, 2024 at 9:30 AM in our gymnasium. Donation $3.00. Flyers were sent home last week with what students in each class are to wear. Please email your child's teacher if you have any questions.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope everyone is well safe and enjoyed their Thanksgiving with family and friends.Now as we end the last month of the 2024 year begin our Second Trimester of the school year. On Friday December 6, 2024 we will have in-person parentteacher conferences. School will be closed for students grades, but open for teachers to meet with parents/guardians to discuss students progress during the first trimester. A reminder, please remember if you know you will have a problem with meeting your cntractual agrement to pay your tuition on either the 15th or 28th of the month, you must contact the school prior to the due date. You do have a ten day grace period, but we can not make any adjustments  or payment arrangements if we are not contacted.  We are audited monthly and must document any problems or concerns. We are here to help and do not wish for students to miss school due to non-payment of tuition.

Please make sure students are dressed appropriately for this cold weather.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray all are well and safe. As we enter this week of Thanksgiving to give thanks for the many blessings God has showered us with, let us give thanks for the many blessings we have especially in the children entrusted to us all. The weather has changed, so please dress your child(ren) for the weather.

This week is a short week. Monday and Tuesday are full days of school. Wednesday November 27 is a 12:00, Noon  dismissal for all classes.
Breakfast will be served Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Lumch will be served only Monday and Tuesday.  Aftercare and after school activites will take place Monday and Tuesday only. 

Wednesday November 27 is a Fall Colored Tag Day. Tag day dress policy is in effect. No torn, distressed, or written on jeans or tee shirts.No crocs or clogs, Donation $2.00.

The second fundraiser "World's Finest Chocolate" is ongoing. Thank you to all who have supported thi effort. You may still order boxes.

The first trimester will end Wednesday November 27, 2024. All assignments must be completed by this date.

All tuition payments due by November 15 are due by 11:59PM Monday November 25th or students will not be permitted in school Tuesday November 26, 2024.

All parents who received breakfast or lunch invoices for the first two weeks of November, payment must be made by Monday November 25 or students will not have access to meals on Tuesday November 26, 2024.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. This has been a week of accepting changes in our government and continuing to move forward despite our disagreements. Thank you for your prayers for our 8th grade students who took the HSPT Exam here on Friday November 8, 2024. This is just one part of them preparing for admission into Catholic High Schools that accept these results..

I ask for your prayers for my daughter, the Reverend Carolyn Cavaness, a Saint Joseph School Alumni, who is an Afirican Methodist Episcopal Pastor in Philadelphia, PA, who was elevated as the First Female Pastor of Mother Bethel AME Church, the oldest Black organizied denomination in the United States. The church is where Richard Allen founded  in 1794. It is the land that is the longest continously owned by African Americans.

The breakfast and lunch menus are posted on the school web site along with the Basketball schedule for the month of November.

November Afterschool Activity fees for Tap Dance, Hip Hop, Nail Tech, and Horseback Club must be paid by Monday November 11, 2024 or students will not be allowed to stay.

Thursday November 14 will be a Tag day for our school play "High School Musical" which will be performed in April before Easter Recess. Tag day dress policy will be in effect. No torn, distressed, or written on jeans or tee shirts.. Favorite tee shirts, jeans and sneakers can be worn. Donation $2.00. DOnations will go for materials needed for the performance.

Friday November 15, 2024, tuition for the 15th of the month is due. You must contact Ms. Courtney Cavaness before this date if there are any concerns.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope everyone enjoyed the extra hour of sleep!!! I pray all are well and safe.  This week we are open Tuesday November 5, 2024. Election Day. There is a 12:00 Dismissal Friday November 8, 2024 for all classes.  Our prayers will be for our 8th grade class as they take the HSPT Exam on Friday November 8th here at St. Joseph School. 

All after school extra curricular activities will take place except for Friday November 8th. The basketball practice schedule is posted on the school web page.

If you have any questions or concerns please email or send a message to your child's teacher. If there is no response within 24 hours, please contact the school office. 

We discourage early pick up, but if needed please call the school office to inform us. If your child will be late due to doctor or dentist visit, please call the office so your child may be excused upon arrival. A note must accompany your child upon arrival from the visit.

The school will be open on Monday November 11, 2024 Veterans Day.

The second fund raiser, World Finest Chocolate Bars will begin this week. Each case has 60 bars at $1.00 each. This can help our school's operating expenses. Each family is asked to sell at least one case . You may request more if you would like. You must pay for the first case then you will receive the next one if you would like.
Even though some families have met their fundraising obligation, we hope you will support this fundraiser.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope everyone is well and safe. This week will be a full week of school The after school activites will continue. Please make sure you check the school web page for the schedule. The school breakfast and lunch menus are also posted on the web page. The first trimester progress reports will be going home on Wednesday October 23, 2024. Any questions or concerns should be emailed to your child's teacher.

Saturday October 26, the parent association is hosting a TRUNK-a-TREAT in the parking lot from 1pm until 4 pm for all grades. If you are interested in sharing your car, contact the school office or the number on the flyer sent home last week.

This week's basketball practice schedule will be posted on our web page and attached to the email. Please note there is a fee if your child stays in Aftercare until practice time. Players must arrive on time and be picked up on time from practices. Monday October 21-the following teams will have practice.
3rd and 4th grade girls practice 3:15-5:00 PM, the 5th and 6th grade boys 5-6PM. The varsity girls 6-7:45 PM. Players are not allowed to walk home.

School Picture Day is Wednesday October 23, 2024 Students are to wear their own clothing. Forms were distributed and exact change must be enclosed or if paid with credit card the confirmation number must be on the envelope. if a family picture , two or more students , it must be in separate form.

Thursday October 24, 2024 is a Pink and white Tag Day in honor of Breast Cancer. Tag Day dress code policy in effect. No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts, No crocs or clogs, Sneakers only. Donation $2.00.

Monday October 21, 8th grade will be measured for their class ring and cap and gown.No money is due. This is included in graduation fee,

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope all are well and safe. This is a reminder that Saint Joseph school will be closed Tuesday October 15, 2024 due to teachers and staff attending a Professional Development class. School will reopen Wednesday October 16, 2024. All afterschool activities will resume for the rest of the week. Please check the school web page for the Lunch menu. 

Thank you to all parent. guardians and students who attended the Athletic Association meeting Saturday October 12, 2924. Boys in grades 3, 4 ,5, and 6 who signed up to try out for the teams are to come Wednesday and Thursday October 16 and 17 from 5 until 6:30 PM to begin warm ups. in the gymnasium.
They must be on time and picked up on time by 6:30 PM. Girls who signed up for basketball in grades 5 through 8 will meet Friday October 18, 2024 from 6:until 7:45PM. and Saturday October 19 from 3 until 5:00 PM.

Please remember that tuition is due Tuesday October 15, 2024 for those who have the 15th as their  due date.

Thursday October 17 is a Sweater Tag Day. Tag day dress policy will be in effect. No torn distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts. No clogs or crocs can be worn. Sneakers only. Donation $2.00.

Map testing will be completed Friday October 18, 2024. All  makeup testing will be done by this date.

Good evening Saint Joseph School  Community. I hope all had an enjoyable, restful weekend. The months and days are passing so quickly. The students all had a good time last Thursday at their field trips. The students truly represented St. Joseph School .

Grades 2 thru 8 will continue Map Testing this week from Monday October 7 thru Friday October 11. Any student who has missed any part will have time to make up whatever they missed. Please make sure your childarrives on time to school, has a good night rest, and has breakfast. 

This week we begin our after school extra curricular activities. Forms were sent home on Friday October 4, 2024 with the information. It will be posted on the school web page. A flyer was also sent home for grades 5 thru 8 for Saturday programs being held by the Essex County Technical High Schools. any questions or concerns can be directed to Ms. Courtney's email at ccavaness@stjosepheo.com.

Please be advised that for any birthday celebrations only cupcakes, a juice or water and goody bags are allowed. No other foods are permitted, due to the many allergies students in the class may have.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. As we end September already and begin October, we thank God for safely seeing us through. 

This week is a full week of school with the exception of Thursday October 3, 2024. Our students and teachers will have their Fall field trips. Our PreK thru grade 2 will travel to Doyle's Farm. All permission slips and monies are due Monday September 30, 2025. 

Grades 3 thru 8 have been invited to Serenity Farms at no cost to the school. All faculty and staff will travel with our students to this farm. Lunch will be provided. If you wish to send your child's lunch please do so. . All permission slips are due Monday September 30, 2024. 

If students are not attending either trip , they must remain home.

Students for both trips are to wear their gym uniforms with sneakers. Hopefully we will have good weather.

Our weekly Tag Day will be Wednesday October 2, 2024. It will be a Fall color tag day. No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts. No Crocs or clogs May be worn. Sneaker only. Donation  $2.00.

Map Testing for grades 2 thru 8 will begin Tuesday October 1, 2024. A letter was sent home last week to explain the purpose of this testing. Please make sure your child rests, arrives to school on time, and eats a good breakfast. It has no effect on their grades during the school year. 

The week of October 7, 2024 we will begin our extra curricular activities. Tap/Hip Hop, Nail Tech, and Horseback Club. Forms will be sent home for students to sign up with the fees due.
 
The Fall fundraiser will end Wednesday October 9th, instead of Friday October 11th. If you did not place an order online, all forms with monies must be turned into the school office by the 9th. 

Please continue to safe when you drop off and pick up your child/children. Thank you to all who are cooperating.
If your child is absent for any reason, they must have a written note when they return to explain their absence.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are safe and well. I wish to thank everyone for the awesome, surprise celebration we had on Friday to celebrate my birthday and 30 years here at St. Joseph School. God has been so good to me to keep me strong to serve this school community. I pray each day that whatever God has for me , I will follow His guidance.

This week we begin: "Good Snacks Lead to Healthy Wellness" Please avoid sending chips and sugary fruit juices for snack or lunch. We are trying to help our students remain healthy, to fight these cold, flu bugs that are starting to go around. 

Reminder: if your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. COVID, flu bugs is alive and going around. Dress children properly for this changing weather. Summer is over.

Please if you have not turned in your first day packet with the emergency cards, do so immediately. Also the acknowledgement page for the Student/Parent Handbook.

Our Fall fundraiser is ongoing. Please help our school. The sale ends October 4, 2024

The 4th grade permission slips for their trip to the Governor's Mansion on Wednesday September 25, 2024 are due . Students must have a signed slip in order to attend.

Pre-K thru grade 2 will be going on a field trip to Doyle's Farm On Thursday October 3, 2024. Permission slips and fees are due as soon as possible.

Grades 3 thru 8 will be traveling to Serenity Farms on Thursday October 3, 2024. Permission slips are now due.

We are very concerned about drop off and pick up in the morning and afternoon. An accident is waiting to happen. Please cross at the corner, not in the middle of the streets. Do not drop off on Tremont Avenue in front of the door. Please give yourself enough time  to drop off and pick up. DO not encourage your child to cross in the middle of the street.
