Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope all are well and safe. We continue to ask for prayers for Ms. Margie our PreK-3 teacher who is recoverying at home from surgery and Mr. Rowley our morning Tremont Ave door keeper.
This week we have full days of school Monday thru Thursday with Friday January 17 being a half day of school..dismissal will be at noon. There will be no aftercare on FridayJanuary 17. When the weather is extremly cold, students may wear their gym uniform.
All after school activities will take place Monday thru Thursday. If you have not sent in your fees for the month of January, please send them in by Monday, Janaury 13 or your child will not be able to participate.
Winter Map Testing will begin on Tuesday January 14. This testing will include grade 1 thru 8. Please make sure your child gets a good night rest, eats breakfast at home or school, and encourage your child to do their best. Testing will go from January 14 and must be completed by February 14.
We still have boxes of World Finest Chocolates to sell. Please fill out form and pick them up from the office.
Friday January 17 will be our Hat and Scarf Tag Day. Tag Day dress policy will be in effect. No distressed or torn jeans or tee shirts, No clogs or crocs can be worn.

Please remember if your child is not feeling well , please keep them home. If a student is out sick three days, they must have a doctor's note to return. If a student has a fever ro vomits in school they must be fever and vomit free for 24 hours before they can return to school. There are viruses, Covid RSVP going around. . We want to protect our entire school community. Mask wearing is optional.
Reminder: Parents, guardians are not permitted to go to any classrooms for security of the entire school community. You must report to the school office and your child will be called to the office. If there will be an early pickup, please call or email the office to alert us and we will have your child ready in the office.
Birthday celebrations in school are limited to cupcakes and juice or water. Due to our lunch program and children allergies, No other foods are allowed.
Wednesday January 15, tuition is due. if ther wil be a concern, you must contact Ms. Courtney prior to the 15th.
Scholarship season will open shortly, please prepare your 2024 taxe As they will be needed to apply.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community, "Happy New Year". I hope all are well and safe. As we return to complete the 2024-2025 school year, we are looking forward to completing it successfully. Thank you to all who assisted me during this recess as I was recovering from COVID. On behalf of the faculty and staff, we wish to Thank you for the blessings that were shared with each of us.
As we return to a New Year 2025, we are looking forward to your continued support and cooperation. There are a few reminders and information of importance that we wish to share. School will reopen Monday January 6, 2025 regular hours. This will be a full week of school. All tuition through December 2024, must be paid by Monday January 6, 2025 6:30 AM or students will not ne allowed into school. No payment arrangements can be made at this time. All breakfast/lunch, afterschool activity invoices that were handed out must be paid in order for students to participate. Any World Finest chocolate monies are due. If you wish to order more boxes, please fill out the order blank. Winter Map Testing beginning date has been moved up to begin January 13, 2025 thru February 1, 2025.
All Afterschool Activities will resume on Monday January 6, 2025. Same dates and times.
Thursday January 9, 2025 will be a Purple and Gold Tag day. Tag day dress policy will be in effect. No distressed , torn or written on jeans or tee shirts. No crocs or clogs can be worn. Donation $2.00.
As we know there has been much illness, flu, viruses, Covid going around. If your child is sick , please keep them home. We are going back to some of the COVID policies. Mask will be optional. If your child is out three or more days , they must have a doctor's note to return. If sent home with fever or vomiting they must be fever and vomit free for 24 hours. Classrooms will be disinfected daily. Handwashing will be increased. Please remember to bring tissues and disinfected wipes for your child's classroom.
Looking forward, we will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week January 27 thru January 31. A calendar of activities will be posted/ Please start preparing your 2024 taxes for the SFIC scholarship to open in February. School Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will begin in March 2025.

All after school activities will take place from Monday thru Thursday. Friday December 20 will be our last day of school with a 12:00 dismissal for all classes. All students must be picked up by that time or a late fee will be charged beginning 12:05 at$1.00 per minute.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I continue to pray that all are safe and well. As we enter into our second week of Advent, preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we must pray for Peace within our own lives , families, and the world. Let us unite in prayer to pray for Hudson Catholic High School Community ,as two of their football coaches lost their lives in the terrible crash this weekend.
I especially wish to thank our faculty and staff for their preparation for the parent/teacher conferences held on Friday. Thank you to all who attended the first trimester parent/teacher conference. We pray you found knowing how your child is progressing and looking forward to continued success and growth. It takes a village to raise our children and together we must strive to help them achieve to be the best they can be.
This week is a full week of school. All afterschool activities will take place. The fees for the month of December are due By Tuesday December 10, 2024. Please place fee in an envelope with your child's name and activity. They will not be allowed to participate if fee is not paid.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope everyone is well safe and enjoyed their Thanksgiving with family and friends.Now as we end the last month of the 2024 year begin our Second Trimester of the school year. On Friday December 6, 2024 we will have in-person parentteacher conferences. School will be closed for students grades, but open for teachers to meet with parents/guardians to discuss students progress during the first trimester. You should have received an email to sign up for a time to meet with the teacher. Please email the teacher if you do not have an appointment

A reminder, please remember if you know you will have a problem with meeting your cntractual agrement to pay your tuition on either the 15th or 28th of the month, you must contact the school prior to the due date. You do have a ten day grace period, but we can not make any adjustments or payment arrangements if we are not contacted. We are audited monthly and must document any problems or concerns. We are here to help and do not wish for students to miss school due to non-payment of tuition.

As we enter this week of Thanksgiving to give thanks for the many blessings God has showered us with, let us give thanks for the many blessings we have especially in the children entrusted to us all. The weather has changed, so please dress your child(ren) for the weather.
This week is a short week. Monday and Tuesday are full days of school. Wednesday November 27 is a 12:00, Noon dismissal for all classes.
Breakfast will be served Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Lumch will be served only Monday and Tuesday. Aftercare and after school activites will take place Monday and Tuesday only.
Wednesday November 27 is a Fall Colored Tag Day. Tag day dress policy is in effect. No torn, distressed, or written on jeans or tee shirts.No crocs or clogs, Donation $2.00.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. This has been a week of accepting changes in our government and continuing to move forward despite our disagreements. Thank you for your prayers for our 8th grade students who took the HSPT Exam here on Friday November 8, 2024. This is just one part of them preparing for admission into Catholic High Schools that accept these results..
I ask for your prayers for my daughter, the Reverend Carolyn Cavaness, a Saint Joseph School Alumni, who is an Afirican Methodist Episcopal Pastor in Philadelphia, PA, who was elevated as the First Female Pastor of Mother Bethel AME Church, the oldest Black organizied denomination in the United States. The church is where Richard Allen founded in 1794. It is the land that is the longest continously owned by African Americans.
The breakfast and lunch menus are posted on the school web site along with the Basketball schedule for the month of November.
November Afterschool Activity fees for Tap Dance, Hip Hop, Nail Tech, and Horseback Club must be paid by Monday November 11, 2024 or students will not be allowed to stay.
Thursday November 14 will be a Tag day for our school play "High School Musical" which will be performed in April before Easter Recess. Tag day dress policy will be in effect. Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope everyone enjoyed the extra hour of sleep!!! I pray all are well and safe. This week we are open Tuesday November 5, 2024. Election Day. There is a 12:00 Dismissal Friday November 8, 2024 for all classes. Our prayers will be for our 8th grade class as they take the HSPT Exam on Friday November 8th here at St. Joseph School.

The second fund raiser, World Finest Chocolate Bars will begin this week. Each case has 60 bars at $1.00 each. This can help our school's operating expenses. Each family is asked to sell at least one case . You may request more if you would like. You must pay for the first case then you will receive the next one if you would like.
Even though some families have met their fundraising obligation, we hope you will support this fundraiser.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope everyone is well and safe. This week will be a full week of school The after school activites will continue. The first trimester progress reports will be going home on Wednesday October 23, 2024. Any questions or concerns should be emailed to your child's teacher.
Saturday October 26, the parent association is hosting a TRUNK-a-TREAT in the parking lot from 1pm until 4 pm for all grades. If you are interested in sharing your car, contact the school office or the number on the flyer sent home last week.
This week's basketball practice schedule will be posted on our web page and attached to the email. Please note there is a fee if your child stays in Aftercare until practice time. Players must arrive on time and be picked up on time from practices. Monday October 21-the following teams will have practice.
3rd and 4th grade girls practice 3:15-5:00 PM, the 5th and 6th grade boys 5-6PM. The varsity girls 6-7:45 PM. Players are not allowed to walk home.
School Picture Day is Wednesday October 23, 2024 Students are to wear their own clothing. Forms were distributed and exact change must be enclosed or if paid with credit card the confirmation number must be on the envelope. if a family picture , two or more students , it must be in separate form.

This is a reminder that Saint Joseph school will be closed Tuesday October 15, 2024 due to teachers and staff attending a Professional Development class. Thank you to all parent. guardians and students who attended the Athletic Association meeting Saturday October 12, 2924. Boys in grades 3, 4 ,5, and 6 who signed up to try out for the teams are to come Wednesday and Thursday October 16 and 17 from 5 until 6:30 PM to begin warm ups. in the gymnasium.
They must be on time and picked up on time by 6:30 PM. Girls who signed up for basketball in grades 5 through 8 will meet Friday October 18, 2024 from 6:until 7:45PM. and Saturday October 19 from 3 until 5:00 PM.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope all had an enjoyable, restful weekend. The months and days are passing so quickly. The students all had a good time last Thursday at their field trips. The students truly represented St. Joseph School .
Grades 2 thru 8 will continue Map Testing this week from Monday October 7 thru Friday October 11. Any student who has missed any part will have time to make up whatever they missed. Please make sure your childarrives on time to school, has a good night rest, and has breakfast.
This week we begin our after school extra curricular activities. Forms were sent home on Friday October 4, 2024 with the information. It will be posted on the school web page. Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. As we end September already and begin October, we thank God for safely seeing us through.
This week is a full week of school with the exception of Thursday October 3, 2024. Our students and teachers will have their Fall field trips. Our PreK thru grade 2 will travel to Doyle's Farm. All permission slips and monies are due Monday September 30, 2025.
Grades 3 thru 8 have been invited to Serenity Farms at no cost to the school. All faculty and staff will travel with our students to this farm. Lunch will be provided. If you wish to send your child's lunch please do so. . All permission slips are due Monday September 30, 2024.
If students are not attending either trip , they must remain home.
Students for both trips are to wear their gym uniforms with sneakers. Hopefully we will have good weather.
Our weekly Tag Day will be Wednesday October 2, 2024. It will be a Fall color tag day. No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts. No Crocs or clogs May be worn. Sneaker only. Donation $2.00.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are safe and well. I wish to thank everyone for the awesome, surprise celebration we had on Friday to celebrate my birthday and 30 years here at St. Joseph School. God has been so good to me to keep me strong to serve this school community. I pray each day that whatever God has for me , I will follow His guidance.
This week we begin: "Good Snacks Lead to Healthy Wellness" Please avoid sending chips and sugary fruit juices for snack or lunch. We are trying to help our students remain healthy, to fight these cold, flu bugs that are starting to go around.
Reminder: if your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. COVID, flu bugs is alive and going around. Dress children properly for this changing weather. Summer is over.
Please if you have not turned in your first day packet with the emergency cards, do so immediately. Also the acknowledgement page for the Student/Parent Handbook.

The 4th grade permission slips for their trip to the Governor's Mansion on Wednesday September 25, 2024 are due . Students must have a signed slip in order to attend.

Do not drop off on Tremont Avenue in front of the door. Please give yourself enough time to drop off and pick up. DO not encourage your child to cross in the middle of the street.
