Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I hope all had an enjoyable, restful weekend.The months and days are passing so quickly. The students all had a good time last Thursday at their field trips. The students truly represented St. Joseph School .
Grades 2 thru 8 will continue Map Testing this week from Monday October 7 thru Friday October 11. Any student who has missed any part will have time to make up whatever they missed. Please make sure your childarrives on time to school, has a good night rest, and has breakfast.
This week we begin our after school extra curricular activities. Forms were sent home on Friday October 4, 2024 with the information. It will be posted on the school web page. A flyer was also sent home for grades 5 thru 8 for Saturday programs being held by the Essex County Technical High Schools. any questions or concerns can be directed to Ms. Courtney's email at ccavaness@stjosepheo.com.
Thursday October 10, 2024 is a crazy hat tag day. Tag day dress policy is in effect. No distressed, torn or written on jeans or tee shirts. No crocs or clogs can be worn. donation $2.00..
Friday October 11, 2024 is a 12:00 Noon dismissal for all grades. No Lunch will be served. The Lunch menu for this week can be found on the school web page.
Please be advised that for any birthday celebrations only cupcakes, a juice or water and goody bags are allowed. No other foods are permitted, due to the many allergies students in the class may have.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are well and safe. As we end September already and begin October, we thank God for safely seeing us through.
This week is a full week of school with the exception of Thursday October 3, 2024. Our students and teachers will have their Fall field trips. Our PreK thru grade 2 will travel to Doyle's Farm. All permission slips and monies are due Monday September 30, 2025.
Grades 3 thru 8 have been invited to Serenity Farms at no cost to the school. All faculty and staff will travel with our students to this farm. Lunch will be provided. If you wish to send your child's lunch please do so. . All permission slips are due Monday September 30, 2024.
If students are not attending either trip , they must remain home.
Students for both trips are to wear their gym uniforms with sneakers. Hopefully we will have good weather.
Our weekly Tag Day will be Wednesday October 2, 2024. It will be a Fall color tag day. No torn, distressed or written on jeans or tee shirts. No Crocs or clogs May be worn. Sneaker only. Donation $2.00.
Map Testing for grades 2 thru 8 will begin Tuesday October 1, 2024. A letter was sent home last week to explain the purpose of this testing. Please make sure your child rests, arrives to school on time, and eats a good breakfast. It has no effect on their grades during the school year.
The week of October 7, 2024 we will begin our extra curricular activities. Tap/Hip Hop, Nail Tech, and Horseback Club. Forms will be sent home for students to sign up with the fees due.
The Fall fundraiser will end Wednesday October 9th, instead of Friday October 11th. If you did not place an order online, all forms with monies must be turned into the school office by the 9th.
Please continue to safe when you drop off and pick up your child/children. Thank you to all who are cooperating.
If your child is absent for any reason, they must have a written note when they return to explain their absence.

Good evening Saint Joseph School Community. I pray all are safe and well. I wish to thank everyone for the awesome, surprise celebration we had on Friday to celebrate my birthday and 30 years here at St. Joseph School. God has been so good to me to keep me strong to serve this school community. I pray each day that whatever God has for me , I will follow His guidance.
This week we begin: "Good Snacks Lead to Healthy Wellness" Please avoid sending chips and sugary fruit juices for snack or lunch. We are trying to help our students remain healthy, to fight these cold, flu bugs that are starting to go around.
Reminder: if your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. COVID, flu bugs is alive and going around. Dress children properly for this changing weather. Summer is over.
Please if you have not turned in your first day packet with the emergency cards, do so immediately. Also the acknowledgement page for the Student/Parent Handbook.
Our Fall fundraiser is ongoing. Please help our school. The sale ends October 4, 2024
The 4th grade permission slips for their trip to the Governor's Mansion on Wednesday September 25, 2024 are due . Students must have a signed slip in order to attend.
Pre-K thru grade 2 will be going on a field trip to Doyle's Farm On Thursday October 3, 2024. Permission slips and fees are due as soon as possible.
Grades 3 thru 8 will be traveling to Serenity Farms on Thursday October 3, 2024. Permission slips are now due.

We are very concerned about drop off and pick up in the morning and afternoon. An accident is waiting to happen. Please cross at the corner, not in the middle of the streets. Do not drop off on Tremont Avenue in front of the door. Please give yourself enough time to drop off and pick up. DO not encourage your child to cross in the middle of the street.
